Go To Nations

WHO WE ARE

deharts-prayerGo To Nations is a missions agency that has been bringing hope to a hurting world for the past 29 years. Our scope of ministry has extended to 79 nations and we have seen over a million souls come into the kingdom. Our passion is to share the Gospel with every tribe, every tongue and every nation. Our name clearly defines what we do and communicates our purpose. Simply put, the name Go To Nationsstates our objective…to “go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation” (Mark 16:15 NIV). Go To Na-tions is who we are and it is also what we do. You may want to take some time to explore our website at www.gotonations.org. We have our own page there (www.gotonations.org/dehart) and will be making regular updates. Come and partner with us as we take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every tribe, every tongue and every nation!

WHAT WE DO

With the help of our missionary team here at the Global Training and Ministry Base (GTMB), the students in our Timothy Internship Program (TIP), short term teams from the states and your partnership in prayer and finances we have tremendous success accomplishing the work of our many projects here in the Petén. Following is a short synopsis of how God blesses the people of Guatemala through these projects:

deharts-medicalMedical: Medical outreach is one of our gateway ministries. People receive consultation and treatment for their physical condition while at the same time hearing the word of God preached and receiving prayer for their lives. These clinics are conducted in rural areas and primitive villages which do not have regular medical care available. Normally, we see between 100 to 300 people receive ministry in each of our medical outreaches.

deharts-tipTIP: Our Timothy Internship Program prepares new missionaries for foreign service. It is a competency based program where they must put into practice what they are taught. Each year we have an average of a dozen new missionaries receive intensive training here at the GTMB. They come with passion and leave equipped to pursue their God-given vision for the nations.

Petén Scholars Program: This is one of our newer pro-grams which provides scholar-ships to students who would be otherwise unable to continue their education. It focuses on villages which lack education past the 6th grade. Students who wish to attend secondary school must travel to neighboring areas to find education opportunities. During the first semester of the program 6 students in a primitive village (no electricity, water or sewer) received scholarships. It costs less than $75 per year to sponsor a student.

Community Development: By meeting the needs of rural communities we open the door for evangelism. Combining humanitarian aid with the preaching of the word has a powerful impact on the hearts of the villagers. Just a few examples of our Community Development project includes; a huge elevated water tank constructed to serve the nearly 600 residents of the village of Centro Campesino; the people of La Nueva Sesaltul are happy to see the new church, school, community center completed this year with sufficient space for the entire village to gather for special events; one local church receives a new coat of paint; another village church gains a concrete floor to replace their dirt floor; and a local Bible school receives renovations including plumbing, electrical wiring and new paint.

Clean Water: The major health concern in the Petén jungle is clean water. Equipping the villages to construct and maintain rainwater catchment systems along with bio-sand filters greatly reduces the health threat of bacteria, parasites and disease. Because of this program over 120 families now have clean water in their homes.

deharts-childrenChildren’s Evangelism: Outreaches with songs, games, bible lessons, snacks and prizes are conducted weekly here at the GTMB, with an average of over 250 children in attendance. Every week we see children receive Christ as Lord and Savior. This evangelism team endeavors to visit new homes in our area each week, as well as local schools. Many surrounding schools have opened their doors for us to minister on campus and present the gospel. Plans are underway to construct a new children’s center for the outreach program which will include a basketball court and soccer field as well as a stage area for dramas and ministry programs.

My Sweet Refuge: Care for homeless elderly began in a residence and grew to become a care facility for 100 people. What began as a local ministry has now expanded to a nationwide operation; currently there are 7 centers around the country with over 700 elderly being ministered to daily. In June we will see an additional 6 centers open with over 1,000 patients by the end of the year. The most important aspect of this ministry is that not one of these elderly have departed this life without knowing Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

deharts-baseUpdating the Base: We have begun updating the look of our ministry base. Being all white gives the impression that we were running a hospital, se we have chosen new colors and started painting.

Still To Come: This coming year we have new missionaries joining our team. This will include newlyweds as well as families. We would love to construct a playground on site for the children of these families.

This past year we have seen God move in the 10 villages in which we work. Hope was extended, communities were impacted, lives were changed and over 500 people were born into the kingdom of God. In the coming months we plan to create a 21-Day Summer Adventure for college age youth and increase the opportunities for state-side teams to serve along with us in reaching Northern Guate-mala with the Good News. With so many new opportunities we are enthusiastic about the future. It is because of your prayer and support that our work is fruitful!
