What We Do

Short Term Mission Trips - Bringing God's Love to Orphans

A mission trip is a life changing experience that brings the love of Christ to an orphan in Africa. You may not solve every problem for that child but you will touch his/her heart and make a lasting difference for His kingdom.

WHO MAY GO ON THIS MISSION TRIP?

Any adult who desires an opportunity to express God's love to children. Many ask, "I have no skills or experience, how could I be of help?" Anyone and everyone can be used to do the Lord's work. Just ask anyone who has ever been on a mission trip and they will tell you it changed their life! God can use you to touch peoples lives in His name and at the same time develop your faith in Him as a mighty and powerful GOD. Step out in faith and make a choice to trust in HIM.

NEXT MISSION TRIP

Calling all children of God with hearts for the mission field. Our mission teams spend time working at our children's home in Kinangop, Kenya. There is much work to be done as we continue to construct buildings and to establish good community relations. On some trips we travel to Western Kenya to minister spiritually and physically to some of the 1.5 million orphans in Kenya. At the end of each trip the team makes a visit to the Masaii Mara game reserve. Come experience the joy of the Kenyan orphans God hand picked to live at IAA's home. Come experience God's animals in their natural habitat. Come to Kenya. You'll never be the same. All ages, churches and denominations.

TRIP DETAILS

PLEASE PRAY! Pray and ask God if He wants YOU to join us. The cost of the trip will include air and ground transportation, lodging, meals, and a trip to a game park. Depending on the season and availability, the cost will vary based on ticket prices. If the cost seems impossible, remember, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD. If HE wants you to go, He will provide the way.

HOW TO REGISTER

Bill and Tarin Paradise made their first trip to Africa in 2008. They quickly fell in love with the Kenyan people and felt compelled to join the work that God is doing there. With backgrounds in construction and education, they have worked on a wide variety of ministry projects in Kenya and are looking forward to working with teams and visitors to Into Abba's Arms.

Our Work

Into Abba's Arms works to change the lives of orphans in Africa by bringing them the love of Christ. Our work focuses in these areas:

  1. To provide a loving home environment for orphans who are left with no parents or families.
  2. To reach out to our surrounding community in the name of Christ.
  3. To take mission teams from the US to minister the our orphans, the surrounding community and other orphanages struggling to provide for their orphans.

Into Abba's Arms is also reaching out to the community. We provide fresh clean water two days per week to approximately 300 people. Women and children come with their water jugs and stand for hours to fill them. This has drastically changed the health of the community. IAA also provides a Children's Church service every Sunday were we now have approximately 150 children attending. The community children are learning scripture and stories from the Bible. After church the children of the community are allowed to stay and play on our basketball court and swing set. We have given out clothes, shoes and other necessities to the community on a regular basis. Our children know that if they receive a new piece of clothing that they are to go and pick something out of their drawer and give it away to someone in need. When visitors from the US stay at our home we invite the community and provide various seminars, training and other educational information. If there is a neighbor in need we will give of our abundance. During Christmas our children make up bags of goods to take and give out to the needy in the community.

Testimony from Our Founder - Jane Gravis

In the summer of 1997, I woke in the middle of the night from having a dream about Africa. This was odd because I never had any interest in Africa or desire to go. The following Sunday I saw in the church bulletin that there was an interest meeting for those who wanted to go to Africa on a mission trip. I saw a friend the next day and explained about the dream and the subsequent announcement at church. She smiled and said, "Here's your first dollar... you are going to Africa."

While on this mission for God in Kenya, I met a man named Nicodemus. He asked me what I did back in America. I told him I was a dental hygienist, but also volunteered for an organization called CASA which represented children who were placed in the custody of the state due to abuse and neglect.

Later he came to me and spoke of the many children who were homeless, left on the streets with no place to go. He said that many would come to him begging for food and shelter.

He talked about the death of many parents due to AIDS, malaria, and tribal clashes, which left many children displaced. It had become a burden on his heart and the people of his church, but there just weren't enough funds or willing families to take them in. It was hard enough for them to take care of their own families. The average home already had 10 people.

As he described these children, I could feel my heart sinking, but what could I do. All I could say was "I'm sorry, and I will pray for these children."

For the rest of the trip, the faces of the children haunted me, and I couldn't stop thinking of the conversation with Nicodemus. I wondered how God must have felt about these children. I wondered what their lives were like on the streets. This continued to occupy my thoughts. After I returned home, I couldn't sleep peacefully. I kept telling God it was too BIG for me and I do not have experience. He kept telling me it was not too BIG for Him and that He would guide me.

I went back to Kenya the following year of 1998 and the Lord confirmed the vision as the doors began to open. By 1999, people were starting to show an interest and join in on the vision. There was great opposition along the way, but the Lord always confirmed His will by placing people in my path to encourage me and pray.
